The NGE Hydrospetsgeologiya founded in 1933 belongs to the Ministry of the Natural Resources
of the Russian Federation. The NGE Hydrospetsgeologiya comprises of a number of field offices
that are based in various regions of Russia and function as its divisions. The field offices consist of
various hydrogeological and geological groups.
- Hydrogeological and engineering geological activities that include but are not limited by the
following:
Search, survey and evaluation of groundwater;
Mathematical modeling on solving various geological transport issues;
Environmental, hydrodynamic, engineering and geological justification of subsurface
sites for final disposal of solid municipal waste and liquid waste deep-well injection.
- Engineering and geological evaluation for various construction needs
- Special geological research, development of various special maps.
- Drilling activities.
- Geophysical subsurface and underground research.
Under the JCCEM agreement, the following projects are being performed at NGE:
- Analysis and conclusions on the basis of research conducted during 1996: Mayak
contaminant transport modeling and submission of publications
Principal Investigator: Dr.L.M. Samsonova; Project Manager: Dr. M.L. Glinsky
- Creation of a regional model of contaminant mass transport in groundwater for the
MAYAK P.A. region
Principal Investigator: Dr. L.M. Samsonova; Project Manager: Dr. M.L. Glinsky
- Defining groundwater flow structure and protective properties of loose sediments in the
Mishelyak river valley
Principal Investigator: A.V. Glagolev; Project Manager: Dr. M.L. Glinsky
